History

Nashoba Valley Ski Area opened for its first season in 1964. There were rope tows servicing four slopes. That season was dependent on Mother Nature for snow cover and due to a wet, warm winter, the season only lasted 14 days. The base lodge was gravel floor and heated by a pot-bellied stove and staff had to pack the snow on the slopes with shovels due to a lack of grooming machines.

In the 70's Nashoba started to expand with the purchase of the T-Bar lift in 1972, a double chair in 1977. and a triple in 1978(The Wardance Triple) Then in the 1986 the "Chief" Triple was added, followed by the "Sundance" triple in 1994.  Today Nashoba Valley operates with 4 chairlifts, 2 conveyers, and 4 rope tows for an uphill capacity of 11,600 per hour.

Nashoba Valley was also one of the first area's in the country to allow snowboarding. During the 80's we hosted some of the largest events to date. With names like Jeff Brushie, Jason Ford, and a very young Todd Richards competing.

Nashoba Valley, while being a full-service ski area offering lessons, rentals, skiing, and snowboarding is also host to numerous other activities, all of which make Nashoba Valley Boston's own year-round recreational facility. Nashoba Valley's snowtubing Park, which opened in 2001 is New England's largest snowtubing facility with four lifts, over 600 snowtubes and up to 16 lanes. The outlook Restaurant, the on-site restaurant and lounge, offers fine dining and catering year-round. Witch's Woods, New England's Premier Halloween Screampark and Haunted Hayride, operates in October with 4 attractions plus stage shows, the Jack-O-Lantern Jamboree and more. During the summer months, Nashoba offers a children's day camp, adult summer volleyball league, and a private swim club.

    Chairlift Chairs for Sale

    $150.00

You're too late, we sold every chair from the lift, as well as a couple other ones we had acquired over the years. Our special offers go fast, so check our current specials right now to get what's hot before it's too late!

We are selling the chairs from a lift at Nashoba Valley Ski Area. The original lift is shown at left with the yellow chairs installed. These same chairs can now be purchased and used in your own backyard!  We still have about 25 chairs left! These romantic chairs make great love-seats that can be hung from trees or other sturdy structures. You can also use it to teach your children how to load and unload from the chair without the danger of a moving lift.

They are not too heavy, at 150 lbs, but they are large enough that you will need a pickup truck or other large vehicle to bring it home. These chairs are steel, not aluminium. The back of the seats are steel, only the bottom of the seats are wood. Most of them are painted yellow, but there may be 2 or 3 blue ones remaining. They are in good condition, not too rusty. There are about 25 chairs lined up, so you can look through them and choose the best looking chairs for yourself.
