Our goals are to teach and reinforce skiing fundamentals, racing tactics, instill self esteem and a strong work ethic in our young athletes. By working closely with our coaches to set and assess personal goals we have seen our racers build the discipline and patience required to succeed at a top level in the sport of competitive ski racing.

The Rovers train at an advanced level and are encouraged to develop their skills to the fullest. All Rovers have previous experiece with competitive ski racing. U-12's, U-14's and U-16's compete with in the Tri-State organiziation which consists of Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. U-18's and U-21's compete in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. STAFF

Here at Nashoba Valley your child will have the unique opportunity to work with a superior coaching staff certified by the United States Skiing Association. Our coaches are well educated, enthusiastic, supportive and skilled motivators who are looking forward to bringing out the best in your child.

SCHEDULE

Our season begins in November with dryland training sessions here at Nashoba and on snow training day trips to New Hampshire, weather permitting. A 3-day Nashoba Ski Area holiday camp in December helps get everyone ready for the January races. Week night practices start as soon as Nashoba is open and end after the first week in March. A detailed schedule will be distributed as soon as competition dates are set by host mountains. Stay tuned for schedule/calendar to come: www.roversracers.org.

TRAINING

On snow training will take place at Nashoba on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. We suggest you arrive as close to 6:00 pm as possible which will allow the racers to meet their coaches on snow promptly at 6:30 pm.

OUR STYLE

Our unique style of coaching ensures that racers benefit from each coach's specialty. Station teaching allows the racer to visit each coach and focus on a certain skill or technique for the evening. This also allows racers to establish strong ties with all of our coaches as opposed to just one.

U-8, U-10, U-12, U-14 and U-16

Ages 7 to 14 will compete with in the Tri-State organization. Tri-State is comprised of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Qualifier races are held throughout Eastern Massachusetts during the month of January. Top finishing Tri-State racers have the opportunity to compete in an all star championship race later in the season. More at www.tristateskiracing.org
