Adult Race League 2008

Adult Team Racing Registration Form

FINALS ARE ON FOR TONIGHT --- SEE YOU OUT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Race Dates:

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT = Wednesday, March 5th

Starting January 2,7 and 8, 2008.

Choose your race night and compete for seven consecutive weeks. NOTE: There will be racing Monday, January 21st (Martin Luther King Day) as well as Monday, February 18th (President's Day).

Race Times:

Registration is from 5:45 to 6:45pm. Racing begins at 7:00pm.

Teams:

Four members, male, female or mix. Each member must be at least 21 years of age.

Cost:

Prices include an evening lift ticket.

Mon, Tue, Wed: $828 per team ($207 per person)

Cancellations:

Visit www.skinashoba.com if the weather is questionable. A decision will be made by 4pm.

Substitution Policy:

Substitution of skiers for registered racers is NOT permitted due to our individual handicapping system. Team will forfeit points for that night's race for violation of rule.

Incomplete teams:

If your team does not include four racers, register as early as possible and we will make every effort to match racers together to complete your team.

Point System:

  • Points are awarded for wins on blue and red runs, handicap percentage as compared to the pacesetter and for bettering last races blue/red handicap.
  • Racers age and sex are taken into account for handicap.
  • The top racer's individual points from each team are added for a weekly team total, which is calculated over the seven week race series to determine the top teams that will compete in the Championship Finals on Wed. March 5, 2008. (Rain date will be March 6, 2008)

Eligibility:

Team members can be involved in the United States Ski Association (USSA). Team members cannot have been named to any national ski team, A, B or C squads.

Running Order:

Running order will be generated according to the previous week's finish, taking the best first and working down through the field. The first week teams will be picked randomly to create a running order. Racers who did not complete both runs (DNF) or were unable to compete for a week, will run according to their prior weeks finish.

Course Setting:

The course will be a dual super slalom set by an experienced and qualified Nashoba Valley race coach.

Running of Courses:

League racers may only ski on the race course that is set for the event. Skiing other race courses will not be allowed. No pre or post running of the race course is allowed. If you are found to be in violation you will be disqualified from that nights race.

Awards:

A video of the nights racing will be shown in the Outlook Restaurant after each race. If your bib number is drawn and you are present you'll take home a t-shirt, goggles, ski tune or other prizes in from our numerous sponsors. The awards ceremony for championship night will involve team prizes in groups of four. The top finishing team will be presented with the Championship trophy which they'll hold until the following year.

Prizes:

Approximately $17,000 worth of prizes were awarded on Championship night in 2007, to the top twenty eight teams who competed for top honors in the Championship race.
