We have beautiful weather today at Nashoba Valley Ski Area.
Big Invert
Our new jumps and rails have elevated the level of riding at Nashoba Valley Ski Area. Competitors are going bigger than ever! This picture was taken during the Big Air Comp, normally inverted jumps are not allowed.
Smooth Grab
During the Big Air Competition, we saw huge jumps and nerves of steel. This rider was cool like the mountain air and refused to flail even as he flew 10 feet above head.
Hangtime
The Big Air Competition features a large jump, and the skiers and riders who hit it right had plenty of time to spin, grab, and prepare for a smooth landing. Mistakes are magnified with larger jumps, so we also saw some great wipe outs.
Daffy in the Big Air Comp
Competitors were throwing a mix of new-school inverted and corked spins, as well as old-school daffies and spread eagles.
Backflip
This competitor landed a backflip during the Big Air Competition at Nashoba Valley Ski Area. Inverts are not allowed in the terrain park, but during competition we saw some impressive flips.
Light Snow on January 28, 2010
Another light snow today. On top of the man-made snow and our latest 7" dump, we have been having many little snow showers like this. A little light powder coating the groomed corduroy creates wonderful skiing conditions.
Skier greased the rail
This skier spun onto and off of the rail during the Rail Jam at Nashoba Valley Ski Area. The new jumps and jibs at Nashoba have been helping skiers and riders improve, and we are seeing improved talent and bigger tricks than ever before.
Hand Plant on the Tire
The tire has been a popular feature for stalling and plants. With all of the new features at Nashoba Valley Ski Area, we have seen some new and creative uses of the jumps and jibs.
Rail Jam competitors awaiting the start
Skiers and Riders registered for the Rail Jam and were waiting for the competition to begin. The Nashoba Valley Freeride Series is free, anyone can participate with a valid lift ticket or season pass.

Learning to Ski at Nashoba Valley Ski Area
Nashoba Valley is a great place to learn to ski. This young skier has fallen and her ski has released. She will have to get up and put it back on to continue the joy of learning to ski.
A GS course on Tomahawk Trail
We have a wide range of racing programs. Ski School's race class is a great introduction to racing, and only practices 1 hour once a week. The Rovers practice twice a week for 3 hours, and travel to races at other mountains to perfect their skills.
Ski School at Nashoba Valley Ski Area
The Ski School at Nashoba is one of the largest in the country. We have 5 beginner lifts to keep everyone active and constantly learning even when it gets busy. With over 300 qualified instructors, you will always get plenty of attention and small class sizes.
Race Coaches at Nashoba Valley
This race coach just finished setting a course for a high school team to practice racing slalom. After carrying 30 gates and a drill while placing gates, he was feeling very strong!
Quick Snow
We had light flurries, but as you can see we already have plenty of snow.
